bohA close friend of mine reminded me of a story yesterday

At Bridge of Hope, we have a large 10,000 sq. foot lot, that’s ground cover is  gravel, and dirt. The property also has a small, steep driveway that we go up and down all day long. We receive a lot of donations, and move thousands of pounds of food each week.   This requires a lot of lifting, unloading and loading, moving things from one area of our site to another- its physically demanding each day.

One afternoon,  during food distribution,  I said to my friend, ” We really need a wagon. A solid, sturdy wagon with big wheels on it. The wheels that have a lot of thick tread.” She agreed and thought this would be really helpful and important.  I said, “Let’s pray and ask God for this.” At the time, my friend was new to Bridge of Hope and unfamiliar with the way we prayed to God for every need to be met.  She thought to herself, ” This silly lady. Does she really think God would be interested in answering a prayer for a wagon?  He only hears the really big prayers like for healing, or a job. What is she thinking?”  I asked her to join me in prayer for a wagon.

Two weeks later, a big truck and trailer filled with donations, pulled down our driveway.  About five of us, including my friend who doubted this prayer would be answered, starting unloading the trailer.  As we came to the end of this massive pile of random things, there it was. A beautiful, almost new red wagon with big thick wheels.  I was so excited and my friend was shocked!  It was perfect.  We gave our thanks to God, and got out some paint and wrote  Bridge of Hope on it.  That wagon has been such a huge blessing.

There is no prayer, no need, no want too small, to bring before our LORD. When we pray, we invite Him into our lives, and our hearts. He loves to be involved in every area. He wants to be our answer.

We received another wagon about a year later. This one is only about a foot long. It sits in the front room of Bridge of Hope as a reminder, a memorial stone, reminding us always, that our Loving Heavenly Father answers prayers!!
