IMG_20121217_124245When we started out, in the vision God gave us for Bridge of Hope, God clearly directed me to study two things; the Bible and the life of George Mueller. George was known as the Father of Orphans in the late 1800’s.  God directed George to always seek  Him for what was needed and not ask people.  He opened many orphanages over the years, and provided for many orphans by completely depending on God for every penny needed.  God was asking me to do the same thing for Bridge of Hope. We celebrate our ten year anniversary January 2015, and we have seen the continual, abundant answer to every need we face. That has been, and continues to be, one of the biggest joys of my life.

More than a couple times over the years, we have needed beds for the families who come to us from various emergency situations.  I will never forget a time when we had no beds and lots of needs before us. At this particular time, we were also getting calls from other local agencies that work with families in crisis, asking for beds.  I got down on my knees and asked the LORD for beds.  The next day, I received a phone call from a furniture company in Los Angeles. They were contacting us, because they had a bunch of beds they needed to move, and if we were willing to take them, they would drive them down to us. I was blown away! I asked how many beds? She anwered, sixteen.  I was overjoyed!!! I was obviously happy about the beds, but more excited to be on this amazing journey of being in need, asking God, and seeing Him show up in such a huge, tangible and funny way.

Another time, we were  in a position of needing beds, so of course, we prayed and asked God for beds.  The Ronald McDonald center contacted Bridge of Hope, and offered us about 20 beds, and would provide volunteers to help us load. Wow!! What a total blessing and privilege to trust the LORD and see His provision.

These are just a couple examples of how we see God answer our prayers for help on a daily basis.

I have learned that God wants to be our answer in everything!!  He wants us to go to Him, lay our need and burden down to Him, and He be the one to answer. He wants us to know Him, trust Him, and rely on Him. He is faithful.

Those who trust in the Lord, will not be disappointed.
